Rovigo Conservatorium applies ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) principles.
ECTS credits are based on student‘s workload which is needed to achieve intended learning outcomes. One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS credits , 30 ECTS credits – to one study semester. Student workload ranges from 1 500 to 1 800 hours for an academic year, and one credit corresponds to 25-30 hours of work.
Rovigo Conservatorium uses two systems for evaluating students’ work: 30 point-scale and pass/fail. Courses that do not end with examinations are assessed using pass/fail system: “idoneo” (passed) and “non idoneo” (not passed).
Examinations are assessed by marks from 18 to 30. The lowest passing grade is 18 (sufficient).
◦ Pass – 30 cum laude (excellent: excellent performance, outstanding knowledge and skills), 29-30 (very good: strong performance, good knowledge and skills), 27- 28 (good: above the average performance, knowledge and skills), 24 – 26 (satisfactory: average performance, knowledge and skills with unessential shortcomings), 18 – 23 (sufficient: knowledge and skills meet minimum criteria);
◦ Fail – under 18 (knowledge and skills do not meet minimum criteria/below minimum criteria and are insufficient).
The final grade is based on a scale of 0-110, with 66/110 as the lowest passing grade. To the highest passing grade of 110/110, “Cum Laude” may be added but only with the unanimous decision of the examining board.
Grading distribution: the statistical distribution is based on the Rovigo Conservatorium grades given over the previous three years in study programs of the study field of Music (ISCED code 0215).
